SuSE’s YaST can stress…
This is an entry of pure frustration. Today I tried to install rsync on a modified SLES 8 installation to create a case study to use rsync to create a mirror of one of our working folders in basel, switzerland.
While I used YaST to install the package, the automatic conflict solving reinstalled an old version of samba2. But we use samba3 on our systems.
The installation of 500 kbs of software crashed the hole infrastructure… Thanks to YaST!
I’m happy that I could fix it within 10 or 15 minutes while reinstalling the samba3 packages.
OpenSearch dict.leo.org
I created a OpenSearch plugin for dict.leo.org to use it in Firefox2 or any browser, supporting OpenSearch.
This page offers the plugin through the autodiscovery mechanism. You can explicit download it here.

Trac 0.10
I updated my trac version from 0.9.3 to 0.10 and must say that this was the easiest update of any bug tracking system I ever made!
I use trac for my personal project management and tracking.
New demo of Baphomets Fluch 2.5
Yucheeee, today I received the newsletter of the Baphomets Fluch 2.5 Team and they proudly presented a new demo. On the website, I saw, that the demo is already up for 20 days and it’s only available in german. I’m on the way to download it! Can’t await to play it.
First Look – Times Reader
Wow! Times Reader is the first real app, I found for .NET 3.0.
Times Reader runs on Microsoft’s new Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), which is built into the new Vista operating system and is included in the .Net 3.0 Framework service pack for Windows XP.
Beagle and Google Reader
Beagle sounds like Google Desktop. I will give it a try on my Debian Etch installation and will report the test results here.
And… today I moved from RSS Bandit to Google Reader. I had a small conversation about online and offline readers with one of my colleagues and decided to give it a try and test an online reader. :-)

Ubuntu CE
Ja was man nicht alles beim Surfen so findet. Darf ich vorstellen: What Would Jesus Download und dort findet man dann die Ubuntu Christian Edition. Viel Spass!
